Clear Lake High School Orchestra finishes 1st at the TMEA Honor Orchestra Competition and 1st at Nationals under the direction of Bryan Buffaloe and Kevin Black! This is the third time CLHS Orchestra has taken this crown at the TMEA Honor Orchestra competition (1991, 2011, and 2013). We are so proud of all of our students!

After numerous years of finishing in the top 10 but falling short of the gold, Lake Orchestra finally did it! The Clear Lake High School Full Orchestra under the direction of Bryan Buffaloe, Kevin Black, and John Law performed their Honor Orchestra Concert on Friday, February 11, 3:30pm in the Lila Cockrell Theatre in downtown San Antonio at the TMEA Convention/Clinic. The last time this amazing feat was accomplished by Lake Orchestra dates back to 20 years ago in 1991 under the direction of James Kidwell.

 

Thank you to all of our supporters, families, friends, private teachers, and past alumni that were part of this journey. We could not have done this without you. Congratulations to all our hard-working students on the stunning performance and accomplishment.

Clear Lake High School Orchestra's invitation to perform in Carnegie Hall on April 14, 2006 was extended to only four high school orchestras in the United States during that time.

 

Aside from their performance, our students had the privilege of visiting many sites and attractions such as the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, Ellis Island, Ground Zero, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Planet Hollywood, South Street Seaport, Chinatown, and the Sony Wonder Technology Lab. They also had the chance to witness spectacular broadway performances by the Blue Man Group at Astor Place Theater, Wicked at the Gershwin Theater, and The Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theater.
