Clear Lake High School is located in the Southeast part of Houston area neighboring NASA the Johnson Space Center. The orchestra program at Clear Lake consists of over 240 string students that meet in six different performing ensembles on a daily basis and an ensemble which meets once a week with the top wind and brass players to form the Clear Lake High School Full Orchestra.
The orchestra at Clear Lake is consistently ranked among the top ten orchestras in the state each year by the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Orchestra Competition, winning it in 2011 and 1991 and hosts numerous All-Region and All-State level performers. The Orchestras have been named Grand Champions at many state and national festivals and have consistently received superior ratings by the University Interscholastic League.
